What is Matcha?

Matcha is a powdered green tea made from grinding specially cultivated green tea leaves. These ground-up green tea leaves make a delicious and nutritious beverage which has been enjoyed in Japan for over 900 years by Buddhist monks for meditation and for traditional Japanese tea ceremonies.

The Origin

Authentic high-grade Matcha is only grown in Japan. Our Organic Matcha is born at the Japan’s Kagoshima prefecture. Kagoshima makes for an exceptional location for harvesting Matcha. Due to Kagoshima’s climate and geo-location, the Matcha has a delicious semi-sweet Umami minus any of the bitterness. We are proud to source our Matcha from USDA Organic certified and approved green tea fields, which do not implement the use of any pesticides or chemicals. Our tea is grown in the natural rain, sun and ground as the nature invented. Due to our Matcha being 100% Organic, our Matcha is only hand-picked and harvested once a year in the month of May. The month of May harvesting timeline provides for an ideal time to hand-pick the youngest and the most vibrant of green tea leaves.
